Spend the day just exploring the parks in Frisco. Here is Frisco Commons, taken from the amphitheatre which overlooks a lake with twin fountains which flank the stage. There is plenty to play on and room to spread out...here’s a map. Technically, let’s talk about the Rule of Thirds: Based on the Fibonacci Sequence, it pays to frame your subject near the intersection of invisible horizontal and vertical lines slicing the image into thirds. Leahlyn’s face, arguably the subject of the image, is near that sector. It is close to the sweet spot which coincides with where a Fibonacci Spiral tightens up. Other framing considerations are where the horizon falls on the picture depending on whether the sky or the objects below are the main subject (thirds, again). Try not to have the horizon run thru the face or faces. Notice how the treeline falls slightly towards the neckline, leading the eyes to the face and framing it. Photography rules were made to be broken, too. But see if some of your favorite photos follow these rules. You may unintentionally be following the rules already. And, yes, we do location sessions! |
